In 1973, María, an orphan with no family, money, or resources, flees her failed wedding in Rome and returns to Spain, where she meets Amparo, a vibrant flight attendant. She finds work at the airport and meets Pablo, a charming man who gives her his work address. María becomes a star on the TV show "Las Noches de Rosa" under the guidance of Chimo, a womanizing producer, but her dream is shattered when she's heavily censored. Meanwhile, her ex-boyfriend Massimiliano reappears, and María must choose between him and Pablo, who is struggling with his father's expectations.
