Notorious nightclub hostess Carlotta is arrested for murder, but her lawyer, Dick Grady, proves her innocence and helps her start anew. He creates a new identity for her as "Ann Trevor" and she moves to New York, where she becomes an interior decorator and falls in love with wealthy Larry Gordon. However, Dick is in love with her and eventually reveals her past, leading to the breakdown of her engagement. After confessing her love for Dick, she accepts his marriage proposal and they enter their new home together.
