In a Rocky Mountains valley, Jay Morgan, the main employer and sponsor, aims to modernize the ski resort built by his grandfather. However, his aunt Barbara Morgan and her lawyer are determined to preserve the valley's natural state. Jay's wife, Kristen Ward, tries to find a compromise, but tensions rise when Barbara shares dark family secrets with Kristen, leading to a fatal fall.
