Johnny McQueen, leader of a clandestine Irish organization, takes refuge in Kathleen's home to plan a heist that will fund his group's activities. However, the hold-up goes awry, and Johnny is gravely injured, forced to flee and disappear in Belfast's backstreets. A massive manhunt ensues, with the constabulary closing in on Johnny and his gang. Kathleen embarks on a perilous search for her missing lover.
