Detective David 'Cal' Callahan, a family man from Bridgeport, Connecticut, is haunted by his troubled past. After being saved from a life of addiction, he's given a mysterious journal by a stranger claiming to be the one who saved him. The journal belongs to the stranger's deceased daughter, who was brutally beaten and raped by Angel, a nightclub regular.
