In the Midwest, college sweethearts Drew and Julia are about to graduate. Drew persuades Julia to join him in Los Angeles, where his sister has a job lined up for him. They become fast friends with their neighbors, the Steinbergs, who run a small real estate business. But Drew's immaturity ultimately leads him to break things off with Julia, fearing the responsibilities that come with commitment.
