Justice, a young woman, turns her life around after witnessing the murder of her boyfriend by becoming a hairdresser in South Central Los Angeles. To cope with her depression, she finds solace in writing poetry. When she travels to Oakland, she's forced to ride with a postal worker, with whom she has a complicated history. Despite their initial disagreements, they begin to uncover shared perspectives on violence and social issues, leading Justice to feel a sense of connection and belonging.
