Two couples, Elyot and Sibyl, and Amanda and Victor, get married on the same day and book adjoining rooms at a hotel. When Amanda sees her former husband Elyot on the adjacent terrace, they both pretend to be happy, but secretly make plans to leave their spouses. However, their spouses refuse to leave, thinking it's their honeymoons. As the other spouses go to the bar, Elyot and Amanda reminisce and their old sparks reignite. They decide to leave together for the Swiss mountains, where they relive their on-again, off-again romance.
