A group of outlaws, led by the brutal Heller, are on the run from a posse after a bank robbery. They stop in the deserted town of Quantez to rest and feed their horses, but tensions rise as Heller's cruel treatment of his woman, Chaney, sparks violent clashes with Teach, a green but chivalrous gunslinger. Meanwhile, Gato, a white man raised by the Apache, discovers an Apache spear with a message warning of a deadly fate for anyone remaining in town after sunrise. As the gang prepares to leave, they're unaware of the Apaches lurking nearby, making their escape to Mexico seem increasingly unlikely.
