Cully Briston, a prisoner in an Arizona prison, is sent to the isolation block after a sergeant finds a bottle of moonshine near him. However, he soon discovers that inmates have taken over the block, holding the guards hostage to demand better living conditions. The leader of the revolt, Red Fraker, proposes a secret escape plan and asks Cully to join them, revealing an unknown tunnel under the prison auditorium. Cully plans to create moonshine to get the other inmates drunk, allowing a select few to escape.
