Stig-Helmer Olsson, a non-jet-set type, embarks on his first trip abroad, choosing the Canary Islands for Christmas. Before departing, his doctor asks him to deliver a package to a friend, unaware that it contains 50,000 SEK, illegal to take out of the country. At the airport, Stig-Helmer's bag with the package goes missing, and the doctor's friend mistakenly believes he stole the money.
