When the teacher's brother visits, the children mistakenly believe he's a suitor and try to discourage him from pursuing their beloved teacher. In the process, they spin outlandish lies about Miss Crabtree. Meanwhile, one student tries to cheat on an upcoming exam by using a book of minstrelsy and blackface, putting the entire class at risk.
