Based on John Healy's autobiography, this biopic tells the story of a young boy raised in a strict religious family with an abusive father, who turns to boxing for self-defense. However, he soon becomes addicted to alcohol and his boxing career ends. Struggling to find purpose, he ends up living on the streets with other alcoholics until he discovers the game of chess, which changes his life.
