Doug Sahm, a wild man musician, was a country music child prodigy and teenage rhythm & blues dynamo who became an international rock star leading the Sir Douglas Quintet. He emerged as a cowboy hippie rocker in Austin, building a thriving music scene before forming the Tex-Mex super group The Texas Tornados.
