June Ryder, a new student at Custer College, is determined to win the heart of Ray Blent, a science major and basketball star. She uses the classroom to get his attention, catching his eye and eventually winning him over. However, their budding romance is put to the test when Ray is offered bribes to throw an important game against a visiting Russian team, the Sputniks. With his ethics and academic integrity at stake, Ray must decide whether to follow his heart or do the right thing.
