Italian and British forces clash in 1941. Captain Blasi captures Major Richardson, but allows him to escape in exchange for Richardson's promise to persuade his superiors to spare Blasi's unit. Richardson is reassigned to lead a squadron against the fort where Blasi's unit is retreating. The British capture Blasi, but he and his men escape. The chase continues on foot, with both sides seeking refuge on an island in a lake. The Italians eventually surrender to the British.
