Paul and Eddie, co-stars in an Off-Broadway musical, find their lives mirroring their characters. Paul seeks the perfect man, while Eddie struggles with reconciling his sexuality and faith. After a string of failed dates, Paul decides to abandon dating and focus on his own desires. Meanwhile, Eddie must come out to his parents and navigate his role in a show that questions the Bible's teachings. Despite challenges, the two characters ultimately learn to accept themselves and find happiness being "just the way God made 'em".
