The Black Tulip background

The Black Tulip

The Mansouri family's Kabul restaurant becomes a beacon of hope and resilience in the aftermath of the Taliban's downfall, but their newfound optimism is imperiled by the resurgence of rogue Taliban factions intent on derailing their progress.

The movie is about the liberation of Afghanistan from the Taliban's brutal regime after 9/11. A family, led by matriarch Farishta Mansouri, opens a restaurant and poetry platform, "The Poet's Corner", providing a safe space for Afghans to express themselves freely. However, this sparks a violent backlash from the Taliban, who target the family in a bid to silence their voices.
