A struggling investor, Lenny Brown, moves to California in pursuit of wealth through tax shelter investments. However, when the government changes the tax laws, Lenny finds himself deeply in debt with no clear path to recovery. His friend Joel introduces him to cocaine, which becomes a temporary solution to his financial woes. As Lenny becomes increasingly dependent on the drug, he descends into addiction and chaos, desperate to regain control of his life.
