In this quirky French film, a middle-class family's seemingly ordinary life takes a dark turn. Philippe's mother, who raised him and his sisters, is caught in the crosshairs of a wealthy divorcee's affections, only to be rejected. Philippe, surprisingly pleased by the rejection, steals a sacred stone head from the man's garden, which his mother had given him. At his sister's wedding, Philippe meets Senta, a free-spirited and moody young woman, and they fall deeply in love. However, Senta's plan to prove their love involves a twisted mix of poetry, tree planting, and murder, leaving Philippe to decide whether to follow his heart or flee from the darkness.
