A wealthy ranch owner entrusts the Cheyenne Kid with a large sum of money to purchase cattle, but unbeknownst to the Kid, a fired ranch hand secretly alerts Jeff Baker about the windfall. Baker's henchmen arrive too late to intercept the Kid, but they kill the rancher who had given the Kid the money. The Sheriff then accuses the Kid of murdering the rancher to reclaim the lost funds, with Baker claiming he had gambled the money away.
