A group of soldiers arrives on Isla Damas, only to be slaughtered by a Komodo dragon. Two survivors, Hanson and Jason, team up with Becky, a scientist's daughter, to search for others. They soon discover that the Komodo dragons, genetically engineered to produce food, have turned into deadly war machines. Meanwhile, a group of thieves fleeing a casino robbery in Hawaii accidentally land on the island, where they must join forces with the scientists to survive against the deadly creatures. As the situation spirals out of control, the group must confront the fact that the dragons can turn humans into mindless zombies, and their only hope for survival lies in finding a way to stop the creatures before it's too late.
