In the 19th century, a renowned anatomy professor, Dr. Thomas Rock, uses his assistant to buy corpses from body snatchers for his anatomy classes. However, two criminals, Robert Fallon and Timothy Broom, overhear the conversation and start supplying fresher corpses, killing innocent people. Meanwhile, Dr. Rock's assistant, Dr. Murray, has unrequited feelings for a prostitute, Jennie Bailey. When he discovers that Fallon has sold the corpse of Jennie's friend, he tries to stop them from killing Jennie.
