The Driftin' Kid background

The Driftin' Kid

A determined Mexican government agent embarks on a cross-border mission to retrieve a stolen herd of wild horses, destined for Mexico.

Tom Keene, a rancher, is tasked with delivering wild horses to the Mexican government, but his initial shipment is stolen by a gang of rustlers. The Mexican authorities send an investigator, also played by Tom Keene, to look into the theft. The two men look identical, leading the real Jim to go into hiding and the investigator to impersonate him. The gang leader, unaware of the switch, returns the stolen horses to Jim's ranch, hoping to frame him for theft and take over his ranch and Mexican contract.
