Evan, a 30-year-old former foster child, lives a solitary life, writing suicide notes for others. His life changes when he meets Charlotte, the sister of a client he attends the funeral for. Charlotte pursues Evan, but he keeps his true occupation a secret and invents a friendship with the client's brother. Meanwhile, Evan starts working with Abel, a depressed composer of phone-waiting music, and confides in him about Charlotte. As Evan's relationships with Charlotte and Abel deepen, he must confront the lies he's told and the crises that await him.
