A group of researchers, led by Frank and his fiancée Zoe, successfully bring the dead back to life in an unsanctioned trial. However, things take a turn for the worse when the dean shuts down their project and confiscates their materials. Frank, Zoe, and their team decide to recreate their experiment, but it ends in disaster when Zoe is killed. Fueled by grief and terror, Frank attempts to resurrect their first human test subject, only to realize that something is terribly wrong with Zoe's new persona.
