In the heart of South America, a Spanish Jesuit, played by Jeremy Irons, embarks on a perilous journey to establish a mission, driven by his fervent desire to convert the local Indians. His quest is soon joined by a slave hunter, portrayed by Robert De Niro, who undergoes a transformative experience and becomes a devoted ally.
