An "anti-colonial" film tells the story of a ruthless white plantation owner who brutally mistreats and kills Indian and Afro-Caribbean workers forced to labor on his island. Two community leaders, one Indian and the other Afro-Caribbean, are driven to organize their fellow workers against the owner's cruelty. Meanwhile, the plantation owner's daughter becomes romantically involved with the black union organizer. The film's climax unfolds when the owner "arrests" the two leaders and sentences them to death.
