In 1956, Vienna, a soldier-of-fortune named Mike Reynolds is tasked with extracting a Hungarian scientist from Budapest after the Soviet army quashes the Hungarian uprising. Reynolds, accompanied by the professor's daughter Julia, assumes the roles of journalists to cross the border, but they face an unexpected challenge: the scientist is unwilling to leave.
