In early November 1923, Jewish-American brothers Abel and Max Rosenberg's trapeze act is sidelined due to Max's wrist injury. The trio remains in Berlin, struggling with rampant inflation and anti-Semitic sentiment. When Max takes his own life, Abel and his ex-wife Manuela find solace in each other, but their relationship is soon complicated by a series of mysterious deaths and police questioning. As Abel becomes increasingly convinced he's being framed for being Jewish, he must navigate the treacherous circumstances to avoid a similar fate.
