Jonathan Tibbs, an Englishman, sells sporting shotguns in the Wild West, where he stumbles upon a lawless town plagued by rival gangs. Mistaken for a hired gun, he's challenged to a drinking duel, killing the gunslinger and earning a reputation as a quickdraw. Appointed sheriff, Tibbs brings peace to the town, winning Kate's heart. However, life becomes complicated as Tibbs is accosted by local Native Americans, wins their respect, and is targeted by both gangs.
