The Singing Sheriff background

The Singing Sheriff

Ambushed and left for dead, Sheriff Seth's plans to capture notorious gang leader Squint are foiled when one of his henchmen attacks him just as he's about to make the arrest for murder.

In the small town of Elbow Bend, Sheriff Seth asks his deputy to send for his son Butch to help with a murder investigation. Butch is away and has sent a picture of his friend, radio-singing star Bob Richards, dressed as a cowboy, claiming it's himself. When Butch falls ill, Bob agrees to pose as Butch and becomes a deputy sheriff. He falls for Butch's sister Caroline, but she thinks he's her brother. As Bob tries to help the town, he must deal with the gang leader Squint and his henchmen, as well as the rival suitor for Caroline's affections, lawyer Vance.
