In the movie, a small-time con artist and crook named Roger Pitman partners with a police detective to catch other thieves using fake money. However, Pitman gets tempted and decides to take some of the bait money for himself, leaving his old life behind to seek a luxurious lifestyle in Miami Beach. He falls in love with a secretary named Shelia Morrison, but soon finds himself being pursued by his former partner, Detective Brogan.
