Monte Hale, a stagecoach driver, and Jed Baker's stage-line are plagued by a series of hold-ups. Jed suspects his brother Ralph is behind the attacks, but lacks proof. Meanwhile, Ralph accuses Jed of sabotaging his telegraph company. In reality, Big Bart, a ruthless outlaw, is orchestrating the chaos for personal gain. Bart plans to frame Jed for murder, but Monte foils his plan and together they devise a scheme to restore order along the timber trail.
