The story takes place 18 years after the Bounty mutineers settled on Pitcairn Island. The last mutineer has passed away, leaving behind only the widows and children, including Thursday October Christian, the son of Fletcher Christian. However, the island's peace is disrupted by the arrival of a group of shipwrecked sailors, who bring with them a desire for women and a craving for black pearls.
