In 1985 Manila, 15-year-old Christina's life is turned upside down when she convinces her parents to let her and her siblings skip school after being notified that their US immigration application is finally being processed. However, their wait is far from over as their papers slowly make their way through the US immigration process. With endless summer days stretching out before them, the siblings must find creative ways to pass the time. Against the backdrop of a country on the brink of revolution, as Filipinos rally to overthrow the 20-year dictatorship of Ferdinand Marcos, Christina and her family must navigate the ups and downs of adolescence and the uncertainty of their future.
