World War II hero Lt. John Brickley leads an experimental squadron of Patrol Torpedo boats to Manila, tasked with preventing a Japanese invasion. Despite their success, the outnumbered and outgunned American soldiers face a losing battle, and the Philippine campaign begins to collapse as comrades fall in the sea.
