Dr. Cal Meacham, a renowned scientist and pilot, receives a mysterious condenser and manual instructions, leading him to build a communication device with his assistant Joe. They contact Exeter, who invites Cal to join his research, sparking Cal's curiosity. He travels to an isolated facility in Georgia, where he reunites with Dr. Ruth Adams, but she has no memory of their past love affair. As they investigate strange behavior among the other scientists, they discover the facility has been destroyed, and they escape in a car, only to be attacked by rays and forced to flee in an airplane. However, they are eventually abducted by a flying saucer, revealing that Exeter is an alien. The aliens' objective remains unknown.
