A group of soldiers is killed by a band of Indians, led by Nanches, and their leader is captured along with his son and the boy's white mother, who was kidnapped nine years earlier. Sergeant Hook must escort the mother and son to her husband, but their journey is threatened when Nanches escapes and returns with his warriors to reclaim the boy.
