Arjun, a bus driver and singer from Jaisalmer, leaves his family to pursue his dream of becoming a famous singer in Bombay. He meets Naina, a tourist, who encourages him to try his luck in the city. After facing rejection, Naina helps him organize an open song and dance show in a public park, where he's noticed by wealthy young woman Bobby Gujral. She invites him to sing for her father's partner's firm, and eventually opens her own recording company featuring Arjun as the main artist. Overnight, Arjun becomes famous, but Naina and her family remain close to him, causing tension with possessive Bobby.
