A misanthropic dwarf named Peter is forced out of his comfort zone when his eccentric neighbor Winona convinces him to go on a road trip to rural Canada, where she believes aliens will soon visit. Along the way, they encounter a cast of quirky characters, including cosplayers and survivalists, and confront their own traumas.
