In the summer of 1991, a teenage girl named Verónica is struggling to cope with her father's recent death and her responsibilities caring for her three younger siblings. During a total solar eclipse, Verónica and her friends play with a Ouija board, but the session goes horribly wrong. As strange occurrences plague the house, Verónica begins to feel the presence of malevolent spirits, threatening her siblings. Desperate for help, Verónica turns to a mysterious nun, Sister Narcisa, who warns her about the sinister spirit. As the ghost's hold on Verónica grows stronger, she experiences increasingly violent and disturbing hallucinations, transforming her home into a terrifying nightmare where no one is safe.
