In 1932, Cuba is ruled by President Machado, who has outlawed public gatherings of more than four people, deeming them treasonous. China Valdés, a young woman working in an American bank in Havana, joins the revolutionary forces to avenge her brother's murder at the hands of the government. She seeks to kill the police officer who pulled the trigger, Armando Ariete. However, an American promoter, Tony Fenner, convinces her to delay her assassination, proposing a plan to wipe out government leaders. China, Tony, and the Chief of the revolutionaries assemble a team of four men to execute the plan, which involves setting off a bomb at a key government target's funeral.
