Nancy Holder's children, Peter and Lisa, disappear and are later found dead. She is wrongly accused, convicted, and sentenced to death, but her conviction is later overturned. Seven years later, Nancy has changed her identity, married, and had two new children, Michael and Missy. On her birthday, she discovers her picture in the newspaper with details of the original murders. Panicked, she rushes to find her new children, but only finds one of Missy's mittens. As the local police chief and townspeople suspect her of murdering Michael and Missy, Nancy must find a way to clear her name and uncover the truth behind the disappearances.
