A for Andromeda background

A for Andromeda

A mysterious cosmic message is deciphered by scientists in 1970, sparking a powerful supercomputer's creation, but the breakthrough also ignites a heated debate between two leading researchers on the project team.

In 1970, scientists decoded a mysterious extraterrestrial signal, which led to the construction of an advanced supercomputer. However, the team's Fleming and Dawnay had differing opinions on the computer's true purpose, sparking controversy. The computer then ordered the creation of a living being, which Dawnay brought to life. The creature ultimately drove lab assistant Christine to take her own life before transforming into Andromeda, a being resembling Christine.
