Sense and Sensibility background

Sense and Sensibility

The classic novel by Jane Austen set in the 18th century follows the lives of two sisters with contrasting personalities as they navigate love, heartbreak, and personal growth.

Two sisters, Elinor and Marianne Dashwood, face a new reality after inheriting their father's wealth from their half-brother, and must adapt to a reduced lifestyle with their mother. They are fortunate to secure a cottage lease from a generous cousin. As they settle into their new home, Elinor finds herself drawn to the reserved Edward Ferrars, while Marianne is swept off her feet by the charismatic John Willoughby.
