4472: Flying Scotsman

The Flying Scotsman locomotive made history twice, with its first non-stop run from London King's Cross to Edinburgh Waverley on May 1, 1928, and again 40 years later on May 1, 1968, when its owner Alan Pegler marked the occasion.

On May 1, 1928, the Flying Scotsman made its inaugural non-stop run from London King's Cross to Edinburgh Waverley. Forty years later, Alan Pegler, owner of the locomotive since 1963, attempts to recreate the historic journey, joined by passengers including Rev W Awdry, creator of Thomas the Tank Engine, who share their nostalgic tales of the iconic train.
