Winfred Simpson, a small-town boy, is jealous of the attention his girlfriend Phyllis receives from a charismatic cyclist, Harry St. Clair, who is touring the town. After being rejected by Phyllis, Winfred leaves town to pursue a career in professional cycling and partners with Clinton Hemmings for the prestigious 6-Day bike race. Despite getting into a fight with St. Clair and missing the start of the race, Winfred manages to enter the competition just in time and uses a lucky break to his advantage, ultimately overcoming the other riders.
