Robert, a happy single man, is forced to venture out of his comfort zone by his friend Rick and meets John, another gay man who shares his attraction. At a pool party, Robert discovers a community of hairy, heavy-set gay men, known as "The Bears", and begins to open up to the idea of a relationship with John, eventually finding confidence and embracing a new life.
