Olivia, a single mother, lives in a small Nova Scotia town with her two children, Thomas and Sarah. Her estranged brother, Jack, unexpectedly visits after years of distance and silence. He becomes involved with their attractive neighbor, Lia, and moves in with her. Unbeknownst to Olivia and Lia, Jack is an eco-terrorist on the FBI's most wanted list. His presence has a negative impact on Thomas, who eventually gets arrested, while Jack secretly collects materials for a possible project against the polluting Cynaco and MacNeil Mining Company.
